I so have to post about my favourite choclate slice recipe a good friend online gave me (hope you don’t mind me sharing 🙂 ). It is a great stand by no fail – quick whip up – taste delicious slice!
I made it on Monday to take along to my first Kindergarten Committee Meeting on one of my Nana’s old china floral plates. Funnily enought here was some other plates of choclate goodness there to 😆
Uncooked Chocolate Slice
Half 400g can sweetened condensed milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1/4 Cup Cocoa powder
3/4 Cup Desiccated Coconut
1 Packet wine or malt biscuits
1/2 cup Chopped Sultanas
Line a slice dish with baking paper.
Warm Butter and vanilla essence in med size saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir in condensed milk. Add the coconut and the cocoa to the butter mixture and stir well till combined.
Whizz the biscuits into crumbs.
Add biscuit crumbs and chopped sultanas into a big bowl.
Add the butter / cocoa mixture into the bowl with the biscuits and sultanas and mix well.
Press mixture firmly into the lined slice tin.
Ice with chocolate icing.
When icing set cut into squares.
This slice can be stored in covered container in a fridge for up to a week.
25g butter (softened)
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
2 Tablespoons Hot Water
1 1/2 Cups icing sugar.
Place butter – cocoa and hot water in medium sized bowl. Stir
until combined and butter has melted. Sift in the icing sugar and stir until smooth.
